Collectively, AVRDC, CIAT, CIMMYT, CIP, ICARDA, icipe, ICRISAT, Bioversity International, IRRI, IITA, AfricaRice and IFPRI have a shared mission to alleviate hunger and poverty in tropical developing countries by generating appropriate technologies that benefit the poor and enhance productivity while preserving the natural resource base.  Each of these member centers has a representative in the Steering Committee that governs SP-IPM.
